If I could eat anything anywhere....

Being three hours away from home, there are several things that I miss. I miss my family, my friends, my cats, and my church. But another big thing that I miss is KC barbeque. I did not get a chance to go out to eat some barbeque over mid-term break. So it has been several months since I’ve had a taste of real Kansas City barbeque. What I really want right now is a pull pork sandwich from Q39 and some cheesy corn from Jack Stack. What I love even more than the food itself is sharing it with my friends and family. Being around other people that enjoy the same food as you is always a joy. Some of my greatest memories are from when we went out to get some KC barbeque.
Other than Kansas City barbeque, I could also go for any home-cooked meal that my parents make. Homemade bread, my dad’s spaghetti, and my mom’s carrot fries all sound delicious right now. The way that my family connects best is through food. When watching football, for example, we always gather around the TV and eat my dad’s crockpot chili. I have been blessed with parents that are great cooks. So essentially anything that they make is great. I could go for dad’s barbeque chicken or mom’s fettuccine alfredo any day. Especially the days when my options for dinner are Sodexo’s tilapia or tatter tot casserole. If anything, being away at college has taught me to appreciate my parents and their cooking abilities even more.
