The future of home cooking

I hope i’m wrong, but I believe that home cooking will eventually become a thing of the past. In today’s society, everybody is always busy and on the go, leaving very little time to make a home cooked meal. After a while, takeout will probably become more prevalent. Eating out at restaurants will also become more common. I must say again that I hope I am wrong about my prediction of the future of home cooking.

Growing up, I was very blessed to have two parents that are phenomenal cooks. Not only was the food delicious, but it was also very healthy and full of nutrients. It would be a sad world if home cooking became something that people thought was not worth the time and effort. Not only is home cooking typically healthier, but it brings family together. For example, I always love the time I get with my family when we sit down at the dinner table together to talk about each other’s day or anything that comes to our minds. Even though we are always busy, the time we have at the dinner table always keeps us connected. What also keeps my family connected is that we all pitch in to help make dinner. By doing so, I have learned so much about cooking just by watching and helping my mom and dad.

Moreover, the benefits of home cooking are endless. Yes, it takes extra time and effort out of the day, but I believe it is time and effort well spent. I understand that home cooking is not for everyone. But I hope that when I have a family someday that home cooking will become a norm for us. I also hope that society will slow down and take the time to do some home cooking every now and then.
